Master’s Music Academy Policies

Missed Lesson Policy

Weekly lessons and daily practice are the path to improvement in skills and technique. We encourage all students to attend each lesson. In order to have the best lesson experience possible, students must adhere to the following policies regarding missed lessons.

If a lesson must be missed due to illness or a family emergency, up to two make-up lessons will be given, provided at least 12-hours notice is given. Makeups are coordinated with the instructor and the Academy and may take place after the semester is over. Any lesson not made up by the end of the Semester will be forfeited. Within a semester, if a student misses additional lessons after the one-absence allowance, those additional missed lessons will be forfeited. For special circumstances, please contact the Director.

Communication for missed lessons should be made directly between the student and the instructor. If a student misses a lesson and fails to notify the instructor at least 12 hours prior to the lesson time, there will be no make-up lesson scheduled.

If a student arrives late, he/she may use the remaining time of their lesson with no refund or make-up offered. Instructors are not required to teach students arriving later than 15 minutes after the scheduled lesson time. Students must call/be available as advised by their instructor at their regular lesson time each week. If a student is unreachable, this is treated as an unexcused absence.

Should a student need to rearrange their lesson schedule due to vacation, engagements or conflicts etc., these known adjustments must be made before the 1st of the month with the Director of The Master’s Music Academy.

Any lesson an instructor must cancel will be made up. The student will be notified as far in advance as possible, and lessons will be rescheduled at a mutually agreed upon time at the church.

Class Make Ups

Please contact the Director if you need to miss a group class. You may attend a similar class when available. Make‐up classes will only be scheduled when the class has been canceled by the Music School or the Instructor. The Master’s Music Academy cannot make up classes/lessons due to participant’s illness or non‐attendance. Any classes not made up by the end of the semester are forfeited.

Recitals

Recitals are a vital component of a comprehensive music lesson program, offering students an opportunity to showcase their progress and gain performance experience. They help build confidence, encourage goal-setting, and provide a sense of accomplishment. Recitals offer students a unique opportunity to shift their focus from personal achievement to the joy of sharing their music with others.

All students enrolled in private lessons participate in a Recital at the end of the Spring and Fall semesters. There is no recital fee.
