Meet Our Teachers!

Peter Chace - Percussion

Peter received a drumset for his 13th birthday and he hasn't stopped drumming since! He began teaching drumset lessons to elementary students when he was 16 years old, and has played percussion in a variety of contexts inside and outside the church. Peter holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from Duquesne University and a Master of Divinity Degree from Trinity Anglican Seminary, which means he has a heart for teaching young people about music and Jesus.

Holly Devlin - Early childhood music classes

Holly is the Kindergarten teacher at Beverly Heights Christian Academy and has over 25 years of teaching experience. She loves teaching kids about music by incorporating music and movement in the classroom. In addition, Holly also taught music at Kindermusik, Mt. Lebanon for children birth through age 6. Holly is passionate about teaching music to children as an age-appropriate way to cultivate a love for Jesus and family, while also learning fundamental concepts of music theory and gaining skills necessary to be excellent musicians as well as lifelong learners. Holly earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a minor in Music from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA.

Kyung Won Jeon - Cello

Kyung Won Jeon has been dedicated to the cello since age 11, graduating from Seoul Arts High School and earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music performance from Korea National University of Arts (KNUA). He began his doctoral studies at Michigan State University (MSU), where he served as a teaching assistant under Suren Bagratuni. In 2008, he completed an Artist Diploma at Duquesne University, studying with Anne Martindale Williams, principal cellist of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Jeon has won several competitions, including the Chosun Newspaper Competition, the Korean Festival Ensemble Competition, and the Cheltenham Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, where he made his international debut performing the Shostakovich Cello Concerto No. 1. He is currently a faculty member at Seton Hill University and has given masterclasses at Penn State, Duquesne, and Slippery Rock Universities.

Elissa Winkler - Private Voice, Voice Class, Class Piano

Elissa Winkler is the Director of Music at Beverly Heights Church and also teaches music at the Beverly Heights Christian Academy. Before becoming the Director of Music at Beverly Heights, Elissa operated Bethel Mark Music Studio and worked in area schools as the vocal director for musicals. With over 20 years of teaching experience in and out of the classroom, on and off the stage, Elissa’s teaching promotes a holistic understanding and embodiment of music and her passion is raising young musicians to use their gifts to bless others by serving their church and community. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from The Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut.
