Reading and Living the Psalms
"The Case for the Psalms," by N.T. Wright
The Psalms are among the oldest poems in the world. Early Christians and the Jewish people used the Psalms as the main staple of their worship. Today, if used at all, we may find them as fillers in between other parts of liturgy, maintains Wright. One fact I found interesting is that the beauty and the poetry of the Psalms have been preserved, even after translating from Hebrew into English. Wright makes a compelling case for The Psalms that will inspire you as it did me, to steep your self in them. “As a deer pants for the flowing streams , so pants my soul for you , O God." ( Psalm 42:1)
