D-Day: the pivotal moment of the 20th century...
June 6 is the 75th Anniversary of the Allied invasion of Normandy. Some historians call it the most consequential day of the 20th century. I would have to agree. This was the beginning of the end of the Nazi war machine that conquered Europe, enslaved millions, committed savage atrocities and inflicted a genocide upon millions of the Jewish people, caught in their dark web. Fueled by a soulless dogma, Germany rose to a power that was a concentration of evil the likes of which history had never before experienced.
Following a 24-hour delay due to poor weather, in the early morning hours of June 6, General Eisenhower gave the command to go, launching a huge armada of ships, planes and men across the English Channel, to land on the beaches of Northern France, right into the teeth of Hitler’s Atlantic Wall. Winston Churchill estimated that 20,000 men would lose their lives this day. Fortunately, the Allies suffered only 10,000 causalities, 5,000 of whom lost their lives. Not one life lost that day was in vain. With their blood they demonstrated that freedom comes at a high cost, that it is never free, for which we should always be grateful.

Sacred Duty: A Soldiers Tour at Arlington Cemetery
Tom Cotton is the real deal. A Harvard Law graduate, commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, an Army Ranger, he served in the 101st Airborne and was deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan. Tom Cotton is a highly decorated war veteran earning a Bronze Star for bravery and now serves his home State of Arkansas as a U.S. Senator. At the end of his military career he served with the 3rd Infantry Division now known as "The Old Guard."The Old Guard is a Ceremonial regiment tasked with conducting funerals at Arlington National Cemetery. Senator Cotton's book is about his duty with "The Old Guard" and he relates the fascinating history of the Army's 3rd. Division and Arlington National Cemetery.
