Patterns of Evidence: The Moses Controversy

Who wrote the Pentateuch? Most of us would say that Moses was the author. You are in good company because Jesus agrees with you (John 5:46). However in scholarly circles this is being challenged. The historicity of the bible and even the belief in God is at stake. Watch this movie to see how this ball of string is unraveled.

"Same Kind of Different as Me" Movie Review

Movie Recommendation With Two High Thumbs Up: “Same Kind of Different as Me.” This is a remarkable, faith-based movie (though, with a PG-13 rating and containing mature themes, is not suitable for children). The fact that such a good movie got a 33% rating from Rotten Tomatoes speaks to the larger divide in our society right now (and why this blog exists): that subjects of faith cannot be fairly and objectively evaluated by folks of the secular persuasion. Based on a true story and the bestselling book of the same name, “Same Kind of Different as Me” testifies to the transformative power of faith. Starring Greg Kinnear as art dealer Ron Hall, he must befriend Denver, a dangerous homeless man, in order to save his failing marriage to believer Debbie (Renee Zellweger), whose dreams lead the trio on a life-changing journey. I won’t give away the ending but it’s powerful, inspirational and reveals a fundamental biblical truth: that you must lose your life to find it.
