2020 A Year of Tumult and Fear

" 2020 A Year of Tumult and Fear," is not exactly a headline I anticipated writing, as the clock struck midnight, ushering in 2020. The first half of the year has passed by like a runaway freight train with no brakes, out of control and headed for a bad ending.  As a white knuckled passenger on this "Crazy Train," I realize that it is not out of control at all, but the chief engineer in charge is God. Once you have that perspective the clickety clack of the train going over the tracks becomes a soothing noise and not one of terror.

We are living through a time of political, social, economic, philosophical and moral upheaval, that happens to coincide with a pandemic of biblical proportions. Any of these problems alone is enough to fill your plate. Where do we turn to for advice? There are so many things going wrong, where do we start to untangle the mess we find ourselves in? This hasn't been one day in the making and will not be one day in righting it. Once a train of giant proportions gathers momentum it is very difficult to stop and certainly can not stop on a dime.

Think about it, our country just celebrated our 244th birthday this past 4th of July. Compare this to Israel's history, from Moses and the Ten Commandments to Jesus, a time span of 1443 years. Israel went through cycles of time with Judges, Kings and Prophets making the same mistakes over and over again culminating in the first coming of Jesus. Over and over they forsook the God of the universe for false gods, which led to immorality, social, political and economic corruption, sound familiar? They would relearn the same lesson over and over again throughout their history until finally God used the surrounding evil empires to conquer and disperse them, but still sent a Savior, Jesus. The history of our country is in terms of 100's of years, while Israel's is a millenia plus. Do you think we could learn something here? The parallels of our history and Israel's are striking and should not be ignored. We founded a Nation under God, based  on Judeo-Christian principles. We were a God fearing nation of believers. Slowly but surely we have forsaken God and our founding principles. Immorality reigns, marriage, sex, man and woman have all been redefined by a secular culture and courts. Truth itself is under assault and we "do what we feel is right." So, this is the "Crazy Train" we call America in 2020. Do we stand aside and watch our country dissolve before our eyes?

Let us learn from Israel's past and do what they did right, repent and turn back to God, forsake the gods of this world and embrace truth and wisdom that comes from being obedient to God's Word. Learn from their history and ours so that we see what's coming and why. Now is the time to apply the brakes so we don't miss the turn off that brings us safely into the station, or we will find ourselves on the fast track to destruction.

The Cancel Culture

What do the following people have in common: J.K. Rowling, James Bennet, Stan Wischnowski, Megyn Kelly, Doug Adler and Franklin Graham? They are all victims of the "Cancel Culture." How does one walk into the cross hairs of this venomous nest of snipers? The "Cancel Culture," are groups of  militant ideological centered "woke" folks, who stalk the media, political speeches, schools, universities, government, military, churches, large corporations and small businesses. These folks are looking to be offended by those who are not "woke," which would be anyone who dares to tell the truth or expresses an opinion contrary to the ideologies of the  LGBT community, Black Lives Matter, ACLU, The Rainbow Coalition, Southern Poverty Law Center, Green Peace, Planned Parenthood, NARAL, ANTIFA, La Raza (NCLRL), etc. The weapons from their arsenal include, lawsuits, threats to media corporations to drop their sponsorship and advertising dollars from "offenders," demonstrations outside of the targets personal residence, vandalism and violence. Corporations are so intimidated by the "Cancel Culture" that you can lose your job by not being in lock step with their ideological demands, your own company's HR department will be leading the charge against you! However, some people do get a pass from their transgressions, such as Governor Ralph Northam, who either posed in black face or posed as a Klansman holding a hangman's noose, he won't tell us which one he was in his Medical School Yearbook. Why was he not singled out for cancellation? Maybe because he was in favor of infanticide? I don't know. How about Le Tres Honourable, Justin Trudeau? AKA  Canada's Prime Minister Black Face? Why do they get passes, while Megyn Kelly who thought dressing up with black face on Halloween was fine, she was summarily dismissed from CBS? Or how about Dennis Adler who referred  to a black tennis player as using guerilla  tactics against an opponent, which was misconstrued  by the media as gorilla tactics? He was fired from ESPN. James Bennet fired from the NYT for printing an opinion piece written by  Senator Tom Cotton. Another newspaper man, Stan Wischnowski, fired from a Philadelphia newspaper for a headline stating, Buildings Lives Matter Too. Franklin Graham's Samaritans Purse organization spent a million plus dollars, erecting and staffing an intensive care hospital in Central Park, during the CoVId-19 crisis in NYC. He was prevented from erecting another facility inside an Episcopal Church in NYC, because of his Orthodox Christian beliefs, that marriage is between a man and a woman. Samaritans Purse responds to disasters around the world and has never denied care to anyone. Despite his honorable record he was subjected to demonstrations by the LGBT community, nasty comments by the mayor, a gay city council member, and given a bum's rush out of the city, by the Episcopal Bishop. He never received the thanks from the city he so graciously served in their time of need.

If you think this is not going to affect you as long as you mind your own business, you are wrong. If we don't put a stop this nonsense we will be living in an oppressed society like the  P.R.C. Our very freedom and liberties are under attack by a vocal minority of the population. Our schools and Universities have been indoctrinating the next generation ,who have swallowed these ideological lies, hook, line and sinker. This is not the America I grew up in. We need to stand up to these cultural bullies and defeat the enemies of faith, liberty and freedom with the truth, prayer and the ballot box. Get on your knees before God Almighty not the BLM movement. If you do nothing, "they" will be coming for you, and we might as well swear allegiance the country of CHAZ.

Corona Virus Meltdown? Here's A Cure.

It's very easy to become anxious about COVID-19, every time I turn on the news I see a world map, colored red, highlighted with the death toll and the latest infection statistics, a big red banner on top of the screen SCREAMING at you, PANDEMIC COVID-19!! I went to the grocery store and was confronted with empty shelves, people sprinting to the toilet paper aisle, no alcohol or hand wipes to be found, need I go on? I feel anxious just writing about it! Common sense has been replaced by nonsense for many. I saw one man sporting a N95 respirator mask for his trip to Target (I'm sure this person was not immune compromised, as he looked like, "The Incredible Hulk" wearing a wife beater shirt) and young soccer moms with surgical masks on, looking like they were walking point on a military operation, their heads on a swivel. By the time I got home from my normal biweekly shopping trip, my mind was spinning and I was frustrated.

I ran straight for my 'medicine chest', the Bible. This was the prescription I needed, which you also can obtain without a doctor's authorization, the directions being: Open your Bible to the Psalms, read daily, and as needed, for fear, anxiety, depression, pain, or any other malady that affects the human spirit. Continue daily forever. It will cause dependence, but that's ok. No refills are needed as this will last you a lifetime.

Here is the the rx balm that my that soothed me. "The Lord is my light and my salvation- whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life- of whom shall I be afraid? ( Psalm 27:1),   "Wait for the Lord- be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord." (Psalm 27:14)  The Psalms are full of "medicinal" value and it's my go to "Pharmacy" when I need a "prescription." What's yours?
